Kennedy Farm

Dairygold Co-op

Aidan Kennedy, along with his wife Derval and their adult children Nickolas and Galina, represents the sixth generation of his family to manage their farm in Cahir, Co. Tipperary. They are supported by a dedicated team, including farm manager Roger O'Donnell, Paul Moloney—Aidan's trusted right-hand man for over 30 years—and two permanent farm workers.

Aidan is deeply committed to sustainability and strives to streamline farm operations to ensure high-quality results. Currently, the farm's herd consists of 374 cows, which produced an impressive 2,081,798 litres of milk last year. With an average TBC of 11 and a SCC of 105, the farm maintains excellent standards. Future improvements include exploring solar panel installation, a project spearheaded by his daughter Galina.

As a founding member of the Teagasc Dairy MIS Group, Aidan values the group as a vital learning hub, helping him access cutting-edge research to enhance farm practices. He is also an active participant in the Munster Bovine Herd Health Programme.

Maintaining a work-life balance is a priority for Aidan. Farm work typically concludes by 5 p.m., and the team enjoys regular time off, with every second weekend free and flexible hours to support a balanced lifestyle. In his leisure time, Aidan stays fit by swimming in Clonmel.
