John O’Sullivan has been farming his family farm in Whitechurch, Co. Cork, for almost 50 years. John lives on the farm with his wife, Teresa, and two sons, John and Victor, both of whom are now married with kids. Having been immersed in farming from a very young age, John commenced managing the farm with his late father in the 70s, and now his two sons are managing the enterprise with him. John has always had an interest in breeding and considers it an all-consuming passion of his. He describes farming as a cyclical process, where each part of the cycle throughout the year brings its own rewards. John considers farming a community affair and feels he would not be where he is today without the help and involvement of his neighbours and community.
